Family Support Services

Supporting a family member with a developmental disability at home can come with real financial challenges — from equipment and therapies to home modifications and respite care. SCBDD’s Family Support Services program provides financial assistance to help families meet some of those costs and continue providing care at home.

What Is Family Support Services?

Family Support Services (FSS) is a state-funded program administered by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD ). Through SCBDD, eligible families in Sandusky County can apply for funding assistance to support their family member with a developmental disability who lives at home.

This is not a loan or a grant with a complex application — it’s financial support designed to help families do the important work of caring for someone they love
