The Play Project
Play is how young children learn — and for children with autism spectrum disorder, play is also a powerful pathway to connection, communication, and development. The Play Project is a research-based early intervention program that teaches parents how to use play to engage and support their child’s growth.
What Is The Play Project?
The Play Project is an evidence-based program developed by Dr. Richard Solomon specifically for children with autism ages 18 months to 6 years. The program is grounded in research showing that parent-led, play-based interaction is one of the most effective ways to support children with autism in their earliest years.
At SCBDD, The Play Project is delivered by trained Play Project Consultants who work directly with families — teaching, demonstrating, and coaching parents so they become the experts in engaging their own child.

Record & Review
Video-record sessions so families can review and reflect on progress
